Google Business Profile checklist for HVAC contractors

By Eugene Piatibrat, Iscra Search · Published September 25, 2026

Short answer: Use your exact business name, "HVAC contractor" or your main service as the primary category, list every city you serve, add each service with a short description, post real job photos regularly, and ask every customer for a review and reply to all of them. Gemini and Google's AI answers draw on this profile directly.

Basics

  1. Business name exactly as on your signage and documents. No added keywords like "Best AC Repair Frisco". Google treats that as a violation and it can lead to suspension.
  2. Primary category: "HVAC contractor", or your main service such as "Air conditioning repair service".
  3. Secondary categories: a few that match what you really do, for example "Air conditioning contractor", "Furnace repair service" or "Heating contractor". A handful of accurate categories works better than every possible one.
  4. Service area: list the cities or ZIP codes you serve. If customers don't come to your address, hide it and show only the service area.
  5. Phone: a local number, the same one as on your website, Bing, Yelp and BBB.
  6. Hours: real hours, including holidays. Mark emergency or 24/7 service only if you really answer at night.

Content

  1. Services: add each one (AC repair, AC installation, furnace repair, heat pumps, maintenance plans, duct cleaning) with one or two sentences each.
  2. Description: start with a plain sentence: who you are, what you do, which cities, since when. Mention your Texas ACR license if you like. No links or promotions.
  3. Photos: real ones only: technicians, branded trucks, finished installs. Add new photos every few weeks.
  4. Posts: one or two a month: seasonal tune-up reminders, heat-wave tips, new services.
  5. Booking link: if you take online bookings, add the link.

Reviews

  1. Ask every customer. Send a direct review link by text after each job. Recent reviews matter more than old ones.
  2. Reply to every review, including negative ones, briefly and politely. Mention the service and city naturally.
  3. Don't stop at Google. Ask some customers to review you on Yelp or BBB, since other AI assistants read those sources.
